ABOUT

The Stathern Duathlon was first held in 2012 and since our first event we have grown steadily from 40 entrants in our first race to 150+ entries last year, with the aim of reaching our limit of 200 entries for 2019. Over this period, and thanks to all our competitors, volunteers and Sponsors, we have raised in excess of £16,000 which has been shared between our local primary school, funding local sporting activities and given directly to a chosen charity.

Following our 2018 event we donated £1000 to Derbyshire Leicestershire Rutland Air Ambulance.

Stathern Primary School is a small primary school of around 90 pupils that serves over eight villages around the Vale of Belvoir and the Duathlon raises funds to help pay for professional sports coaching that will make our sports provision for local children even better and to support a range of our race competitor's charities through sponsorship. We have over the last few years been able to purchase Table Tennis tables, assist towards the cost of the Inspire Plus programme and purchase specialist sports equipment for the school.

For 2019 our chosen charity is the Teenage Cancer Trust, a UK based charity which supports young people with cancer with specialised nursing care and support.

The run and bike routes can be seen on our RACE INFO page and go through some amazing countryside, on quiet open country roads, but supported by our marshals and volunteers all along the way.

At the finish line competitors are once again invited to re-energise and re-hydrate with cake and a beer! We also have an event photographer capturing those special moments and Larillie Bike Repairs and Servicing will be along for any on-site last minute bike repair or minor adjustments. (And Stuart is also competing in the Team event, naturally doing the cycle leg!)

Once again we are delighted to be hosting the Belvoir Tri Club Duathlon Championships and welcome all BTC members to our event. Good luck on race day!!

We are awarding prizes for 1st Male, 1st Female, 1st Team, 1st Veteran (over 50 on Race Day) and for this year we are awarding prizes for the King and Queen of the Mountain (KOM/QOM) for the fastest time up Mill Hill.

Our Sponsors are crucial to making the event the huge success year on year, so please view our sponsor’s page to see whether they can help you with services and support.
