The Stathern Duathlon was first held in 2012 and since our first event we have grown steadily from 40 entrants in our first race to 167 entries last year, with the aim of reaching our limit of 200 entries for 2018. Over this period, and thanks to all our competitors, volunteers and Sponsors, we have raised in excess of £11,000 which has been shared between our local primary school, funding local sporting activities and given directly to a chosen charity.

Following our 2017 event we donated £750 to Cancer Research UK.

Stathern Primary School is a small primary school of 77 pupils that serves over eight villages around the Vale of Belvoir and the Duathlon raises funds to help pay for professional sports coaching that will make our sports provision for local children even better and to support a range of our race competitor's charities through sponsorship

For 2018 our chosen charity is the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance, which do not receive any government funding but are funded purely by donations, with every mission they undertake, potentially lifesaving!

The run and bike routes can be seen on our RACE INFO page and go through some amazing countryside, on quiet open country roads, but supported by our marshals and volunteers all along the way.

At the finish line competitors are once again invited to re-energise and re-hydrate with cake and a beer! We also have an event photographer capturing those special moments and Larillie Bike Repairs and Servicing will sent Stuart along for any on-site last minute bike repair or minor adjustments.

This year because of clashing with another event we will not be hosting the BTC championship on this occasion but welcome any BTC members to our event and good luck to those taking part in other events on Race day.
